Check before you dial
Being in the same city does not always mean the call is local — it depends on your exchange. If you are not certain, check with your phone provider first, because long-distance charges on a dial-up session add up quickly and they are not ours to waive.
If no local number reaches you
Only where nothing in the list above is a local call for you, dial 1-800-553-1802. Everyone else should use their local number — it connects the same way and costs us far less. We monitor toll-free use for sustained or unusual volume. If an account is well beyond normal use — or is dialling toll-free from an area a local number already serves — we may ask you to switch to the local number, apply the published per-minute rate, or withdraw toll-free access from the account.
