Help, whichever way you want it.
Ask Yuni any hour of the day, or speak to our team in Canada during office hours. Most email and connection problems are quicker with Yuni.
Two ways to reach us.
Ask Yuni
Yuni is our support assistant. It sets up your email, checks for outages on your street, and works through a slow connection — no sign-in needed.
- Sets up email on any phone, laptop or tablet
- Checks outages and planned maintenance
- Walks through slow lines, wifi and equipment
- Can't see your account, bill or password
Call us
Answered in Canada by our own staff. Billing, account changes, orders and anything Yuni couldn't clear.
- Sat–Sun closed · Statutory holidays 9:00am–5:00pm
- tech.support@uniserve.com
Yuni can't sign you in, so it can't see your bill, your account or your password. Ask it for those and it takes your number and books a callback for office hours.
Never type your password into a chat window — not to Yuni, and not to anyone claiming to be us.
We've never offshored support, and we didn't start with Yuni either — it runs in our own data centre, six floors below the people who answer the phone.
Connect your Uniserve email to any device.
The same six settings work everywhere — the only thing that changes is where your device hides them. Ask Yuni to walk you through it live if you would rather not do it alone.

Stuck halfway through?
Yuni can read the error your device is showing and tell you which setting is wrong. It's usually the outgoing server.

Pick your device. The settings are the same everywhere — only the menus differ.
iPhone & iPad
Settings → Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts
Add the account manually rather than letting iOS guess — automatic setup picks the wrong outgoing server more often than not.
- Open the mail accounts screenSettings, then Apps, then Mail, then Mail Accounts. On older versions of iOS this is Settings, then Mail, then Accounts.
- Add the account by handTap Add Account, then Other, then Add Mail Account. Enter your name, your full Uniserve email address and your password.
- Choose IMAPOn the next screen, pick IMAP rather than POP. IMAP keeps your mail on the server, so it stays in step across your devices.
- Enter the serversFill the incoming and outgoing sections with the settings shown above. Your username is your full email address in both, not just the part before the @.
- Fill in the outgoing password tooiOS labels the outgoing password as optional. It is not — leave it blank and your mail will arrive but never send.
The four things that come up most.
Written out in full, in the order that actually works. Yuni will walk you through any of them live if you would rather not read.
Nothing is connecting
A power cycle clears most of these. Work through it in order — it takes about five minutes.
- Check whether it is just one deviceTry a second phone or laptop. If everything is offline it is the connection; if only one device is, the problem is on that device.
- Look at the lightsNote which lights on the modem are on, off or flashing before you change anything. If you end up calling us, that is the first thing we will ask.
- Unplug the power for 30 secondsPull the power lead out of the modem — and the router, if it is a separate box — wait a full 30 seconds, then plug the modem back in first. Give it two or three minutes to settle before plugging the router back in.
- Check the cablesMake sure the cable from the wall to the modem is seated at both ends, and that nothing has been knocked loose behind the furniture.
- Still nothing? Call usIf the lights have not changed after a full restart, the fault is likely on the line rather than in the house. Call and we will check it from our end.
Do not hold the reset button on your equipment. That wipes settings only the installing technician has and can take your internet or phone down completely — unplugging the power is a different thing, and is always safe.
Would rather not work through it?
Yuni can do these with you step by step, or call and someone here will pick it up.

Dial the code from your home phone and wait for the confirmation tone. Worth printing and leaving in a drawer near the handset.

911 is never a code
Anything to do with 911 — whether it works, the address registered to your line, or moving your phone to a new home — has to go through a person. Call us and we will handle it properly.
Never reset these
Holding the reset button on the equipment below wipes settings only the installing technician has, and can take your internet or phone down completely. Unplugging the power for 30 seconds is always safe — that is a different thing. If you think a reset is needed, call us.
